We only carry solar barricade lights because we feel like they are the only logical choice. They are BOTH more economical and more environmentally friendly.
Replace the expensive 6v batteries in a conventional barricade light and you quickly spend MUCH MORE money in labor and in battery cost than you would using a solar barricade light. You would have also added to our landfills with all the disposable batteries that you would have to pitch.
These flashing lights have an electric "solar eye" that turns them on at dusk and off at dawn. They also have a keyed switch that allows you to select whether they are "always on" or off unless activated by the "solar eye". Mounting bolt included. Energy comes from 1200 MA nickel hydride cells that are recharged by .4 watt solar panel. 6 hours of daylight will run the flashing light for 3 nights. Overcharge Protection is built into the circuitry.
