Each of the 4 legs are 38" long when fully extended. Your roll-up signs need a good secure base to hold them up. All of our "Safe Zone Series" sign stands have a "break-away" base that is designed to rotate 90 degrees to the ground upon impact causing no damage to the undercarriage of the impacting vehicle.
Although the picture above shows part of a sign face with a "Men Working Symbol", these stands do not include a sign face. The sign faces can be purchased separately.
Why use a spring? The springless model is fine for lower wind applications and in cities and around roads with lower traffic speeds. The model with the spring has additional weight (that is provided by the spring) and the spring helps release some of the wind's energy when wind pushes against your sign face. This helps to prevent the wind from moving the sign base. The model with the spring is better suited for interstates and state highways where wind loads are greater and more frequent.
